It does not stream music on its own like the A series models. Instead, it is designed to take a digital signal from a source such as the Eversolo T8, a computer, or a media server, and convert it into high quality analog audio for your amplifier or powered speakers.

Where the DAC Z6 and DAC Z8 offered excellent performance for their price, the Z10 moves into a higher class. It uses AKM’s Velvet Sound architecture in a dual mono layout that pairs an AK4191 digital modulator with an AK4499 DAC chip for each channel. Keeping left and right fully independent from input to conversion improves separation and lowers crosstalk to extremely low levels. The DACs are clocked by an oven controlled crystal oscillator and a femtosecond grade PLL system that keep timing precise and stable. The result is more natural transients, solid imaging, and the kind of micro detail that makes recordings feel alive.

By keeping the DAC separate from the streamer, Eversolo can control electrical noise, improve clock accuracy, and isolate each stage for better overall performance. This approach also gives you more flexibility in system design. You can use the Z10 with any digital transport, upgrade components independently, or integrate it into a hybrid setup that includes both two channel and theater gear.

Design & Build Quality

The Z10 carries the same design language as the T8, with a solid aluminum chassis, ribbed sides for cooling, and a glass front panel that blends smoothly into the metal frame. It looks every bit as premium as you would expect, but there is one thing we immediately noticed: it is bigger. At roughly 15 inches wide, 12 inches deep, and 3 inches tall, it is noticeably larger than the T8. That gives it more physical presence, but it also means the two do not stack as cleanly as we hoped. Considering how many people will want to use them together, the mismatch feels like a small miss. Side by side, though, they look fantastic. The styling, finish, and lighting all line up perfectly, and it is clear Eversolo designed them to live together visually, even if the dimensions do not match.

The 8.8 inch front IPS touchscreen is the main attraction. It is bright, fast, and easy to read from a few feet away, and it includes electromagnetic shielding to keep performance clean. Instead of album art, the display focuses on useful data such as input selection, clock source, filters, and real time signal information. You can choose between a spectrum view of the music playing, a set of classic VU meters, or a more technical diagnostic layout that shows channel output and processing details. It is fun to use and gives the Z10 a lively presence when the lights are low.

To the left of the display is a full size headphone jack, and to the right is a large volume knob with a soft LED ring you can color match to your system. Our unit was an early pre production sample with a clear glass top that let us peek inside at the layout, which was impressively clean and organized. Retail units ship with a solid black aluminum top that ties in with the rest of the Eversolo lineup.

Inside, Eversolo’s Fully Isolated Architecture separates the digital, analog, and control domains. Power is supplied by three independent linear supplies, one for the left channel, one for the right channel, and one for system control. Each is filtered and regulated to keep noise out of the analog stage and to maintain an exceptionally low noise floor.

Features & Technology

At the heart of the Z10 are per channel AKM modules that pair the AK4191 digital modulator with the AK4499 DAC chip in a fully balanced dual mono configuration. Each channel has its own converter path and output stage, which helps preserve imaging precision and dynamics.

The preamp section is fully balanced and supports left and right channel analog inputs and outputs on XLR and RCA, with up to +10 dB of analog gain. This means you can connect analog sources and still take advantage of the Z10’s per channel R2R volume control and balanced output stage. The R2R ladder networks are independent for left and right, so channel balance and phase integrity stay locked in at any volume. You can set outputs to fixed if you are using an external preamp or variable if you want to run the Z10 straight into a power amp.

Connectivity is complete. The internal system uses an OCXO temperature controlled crystal oscillator with a femtosecond grade PLL stage and an FPGA that handles clock reconstruction and IIS data shaping before the DACs. Yes, they actually keep the crystal oscillator in a miniature oven that keeps its temperature constant for more precision. Timing stability directly affects how natural and spacious a recording sounds, and this is one of the biggest differences you hear between budget and reference DACs.

For advanced setups, the Z10 accepts external master clocks at 10 MHz or 25 MHz with selectable 50 or 75 ohm impedance. This lets the Z10 integrate into high end clocking ecosystems and push jitter even lower.

The headphone amplifier is no afterthought. It feels effortless and composed, with a black background that lets every detail come through clearly. There’s a real sense of weight and texture to the low end. Bass notes aren’t just deep, they have definition and pitch that make complex passages easy to follow. Timing and rhythm feel locked in, giving music a sense of drive and energy that’s hard to fake.

The midrange is smooth and natural, with an organic sense of space around voices and instruments. Those AKM4499 chips do exactly what you hope they will: they sound silky and extended without being overly soft or rounded. The Z10 captures microdynamics beautifully, letting you hear subtle inflections in a performance that make it feel alive. Highs are clean and extended but never sharp, keeping the presentation neutral and engaging for long listening sessions.

Paired with the T8, the synergy is outstanding. The T8’s ultra-precise digital handoff gives the Z10 everything it needs to perform at its best, and together they sound far more expensive than their combined price suggests. You get a wide, stable soundstage with pinpoint imaging and depth that pulls you into the mix. Everything feels grounded and natural, as if the gear disappears and you’re left with just the music.

When paired with the T8, we found the I2S connection offered slightly better coherence and a wider sense of space than USB, with a touch more ease in the upper frequencies. USB, however, remains extremely clean and convenient, and differences were pretty subtle overall.

Compared to the DMP-A10, the Z10 and T8 combination sounded a bit more open and three-dimensional. The A10 is still fantastic for an all-in-one unit, but using the T8 as a dedicated transport and the Z10 as a separate DAC gives each component room to operate in its own optimized environment. The Z10’s clocking and power isolation help it deliver better instrument separation and tonal refinement, especially in larger or more revealing systems. And we have to say it was interesting to compare what is the top of the line ESS DAC in the DMP-A10 to the top of the line AKM in the Z10. The term AKM uses for their DAC’s in this series, called Velvet Sound really came through.

The headphone amp section carries that same character. It’s powerful and refined, with plenty of drive for planar designs and a smooth, balanced tone for dynamic headphones. Bass remains tight and authoritative, transients are quick, and vocals stay full without any harsh edges. Even with sensitive in-ears, the noise floor is impressively low. It’s the kind of headphone output that feels like it belongs on a dedicated desktop amp, not just a built-in circuit.

Eversolo clearly aimed to build something that competes well above its class, and they pulled it off. Instead, it’s a purpose-built streaming transport that focuses entirely on the digital signal, delivering a clean, precisely timed stream so your DAC and speakers can perform at their full potential. In audio, the old saying “garbage in, garbage out” still applies. If the source introduces noise or timing errors, even the best DACs and amplifiers cannot fully make up for it. The T8 was designed to prevent that, keeping the signal as pure as possible so the rest of your system can do its best work.

At Audio Advice, we’ve partnered with Eversolo ahead of their major releases, and we’re proud to be the largest Eversolo seller in the United States. There are no analog outputs on the back, only digital. You connect it to a DAC, an integrated amplifier with digital inputs, or a home theater processor, and it becomes the brain for streaming music. By leaving out the DAC stage, Eversolo could focus entirely on low-noise power, precise clocking, isolated outputs, and a polished control experience. For anyone newer to digital audio, a DAC, or digital-to-analog converter, is the component that turns the digital stream into the analog signal your amplifier and speakers can play. The benefit of keeping the DAC separate is flexibility: if you already own a converter you love, the T8 will feed it a clean signal. And if you enjoy experimenting, you can swap DACs over time to change the character of your system without replacing the streaming front end. For home theater owners, it also serves as a modern, stable streaming brain that hands off cleanly into a processor or AVR without relying on dated built-in apps.

Design & Build Quality

On the outside, the T8 looks like a typical modern Eversolo component, coming in at about 12.4 inches wide, 9.1 inches deep, and 3.5 inches tall, making it compact enough to fit easily into most racks or media consoles. The front has a six-inch touchscreen, a few capacitive touch controls, and the chassis is solid aluminum with a matte black finish. The design feels calm and understated, blending into a two-channel rack or a clean media console until the screen wakes. The display itself is bright and responsive, making it easy to navigate menus, view album art, or switch to meters and spectrum views with a simple touch.

Features & Technology

Inside is where the real work shows. The power supply is a true linear design built around a custom toroidal transformer wound with high-purity copper and wired with Teflon insulation. The regulation and filtering stages are overbuilt for this category, dropping the noise floor to as low as 30 microvolts, which you notice as deep silence behind quiet passages.

Clocking is handled by an ultra-precise femtosecond master clock. But why does this even matter? Because even the smallest drift in a clock signal can cause tiny timing errors between samples, which impacts the audio quality. The more accurate the timing, the more alive and true-to-life your music sounds, as if you’re right there at the live performance.

The T8 also has the horsepower to keep everything responsive, built on a quad-core ARM processor with 4 GB of DDR memory and 64 GB of internal eMMC storage. USB Audio gets a galvanically isolated port for noise control when you want bit-perfect PCM and DSD into a modern DAC. I2S over HDMI is there for people who prefer its direct path, and Eversolo includes eight selectable modes to match pinouts with a wide range of converters. AES or EBU on XLR is present for balanced digital runs into pro-grade DACs and integrated amps. Coaxial and optical round things out for classic connections.

The important part isn’t simply having all those outputs, it’s how well they’re isolated. Each output is designed to break ground loops and keep switching noise off the data line. That means the differences you hear come from your DAC’s preferred interface, not from the transport adding unwanted flavor.

USB and I2S carry high-rate PCM and native DSD. The Gigabit Ethernet port is the default choice for serious listening. There is also an SFP fiber socket that breaks the electrical link to your network when paired with compatible modules and a fiber capable switch, which helps keep network noise out of the audio stack. That option is rare at this price and really helps in racks crowded with gear and routers. Wi-Fi 6 is built in for situations where wiring isn’t possible. It works well, but if you can run a wire, you should.

Flip the T8 over and you’ll find dual M.2 SSD bays, where you can install up to 16 TB across both slots to keep a massive local library inside the transport. Solid-state drives run silently, stay reliable, and boot quickly, making them the right match for a noise-sensitive digital front end. There are also USB ports on the rear for connecting external drives, giving you flexibility if you prefer simple plug-and-play storage.

Once loaded, scanning is quick, artwork displays cleanly, and the library view in the app makes local files and streaming services feel like one collection. Whether you’re pairing it with your current DAC or waiting for the Z10 later this year, the T8 is already a transport that feels built for the long haul.

Performance

A good transport doesn’t try to add a sound of its own. The T8 keeps electrical noise out of the signal, holds timing steady, and lets the DAC do its work. The result is music that feels relaxed and natural. Imaging stays locked in place, cymbals have air without turning brittle, guitars carry bite without sounding glassy, and bass lines deliver both pitch and weight. The background feels still, so dynamics rise and fall with an ease that sounds fluid rather than forced.

That is the character of the T8. It gets out of the way so the rest of the system can shine. With a resolving DAC, you hear familiar details more clearly: piano notes strike cleanly and bloom into the room, snares hit and decay without haze, and synth notes carry more shape in the lower registers. The most noticeable change is in space, where the stage stretches beyond the speakers, and depth layers become easier to follow. None of it feels exaggerated. It simply feels right.

Because the T8 itself is transparent, the sonic character you hear depends largely on your DAC. Swap converters and the differences come through clearly, which is part of the fun for many hobbyists.

Final Thoughts

A transport isn’t supposed to show off. It’s supposed to get out of the way. The Eversolo T8 does exactly that. It kills noise where it matters, keeps timing honest, and gives you a control surface that invites you to keep listening. It won’t dictate the voice of your system. It will reveal it. For us, that’s the highest compliment you can give a source. Eversolo keeps improving, they listen to feedback, and the T8 proves what happens when a company stays focused on sound and real-world use. If you have a DAC you love, the Eversolo T8 is the perfect way to let it shine.

FAQs

Does the Eversolo T8 include a built in DAC?
No. The T8 is a pure streaming transport. Up until now, if you wanted to use Eversolo gear, you had to buy something like the DMP-A6, A6 Master Edition, or A8 streamer/DACs, or their Z8 or Z6 DACs, and then pair that up with an amplifier of your choice. They also released a higher-end AMP-F10 that is a great amplifier but is best paired with their matching flagship streamer/DAC/preamp, the A10. So, in many cases, people mixed and matched their own amp to go along with the Eversolo units. In fact, we’ve seen a lot of music lovers use Eversolo's streamers as standalone DACs or streamers added into an existing high-end system just because they look great, have one of the best interfaces out there, and feature that beautiful touchscreen that really adds to the experience.

Now, with the Play, Eversolo gives people a much quicker and easier way to build a full system with just one box. It’s a complete system that brings together a music streamer with a high-quality DAC, a Class D amplifier, and HDMI eARC for direct TV integration. And for vinyl lovers, there’s even a phono stage that supports both MM and MC cartridges.

So, whether you’re just getting into high-performance audio or if you want to put together a great secondary setup in a bedroom, office, or den, the Play makes it incredibly simple. Just grab a pair of speakers, log into your streaming services, and you’re good to go. You can also use it with your TV setup, add a turntable, use it for multi-room audio if you already own other Eversolo units, and more. It makes things easy because there is no need to match components or deal with multiple boxes and cables. It gives you everything in one easy, plug-and-play solution.

If you’re already sold on this new unit, you can order or pre-order the Eversolo Play right now at AudioAdvice.com. Like other Eversolo gear, the Play has that same sleek, modern style, but with some key features that make it stand out. It keeps the same clean, modern look we’ve seen across other Eversolo products, but with some notable upgrades that set it apart. The front panel is finished in brushed aluminum with CNC unibody construction, giving it a solid, premium feel. The entire base is designed as a heatsink, ensuring efficient heat dissipation to keep the unit running cool even during extended listening sessions.

Front and center, or more accurately, to the left, is a 5.5-inch color touchscreen. It’s the same style of display found on the DMP-A6 and A8, but here it’s running a more refined version of Eversolo’s customized Android interface. The layout has been updated based on user feedback and now simplifies device controls into six main sections: Music Services, Functions, Apps, Connect, Cloud, and Settings. This makes navigating your music, settings, and sources faster and more intuitive. The screen is still super responsive, bright, and beautiful. We also just love the options for different album art, VU meters, and more that are available when playing music.

To the right of the screen, you’ll find the volume knob, which has a subtle illuminated ring that you can customize for both color and brightness. It’s a simple but effective design touch that adds a bit of visual interest while keeping the overall look understated.

Around back, the Play is packed with inputs and outputs that give it some serious versatility. You get HDMI ARC and eARC for connecting to your TV, and this is one of those features that can really elevate your setup if you’re still using your TV’s built-in speakers. With just one HDMI cable, you can run the audio from your TV to the Play and hear everything through your main speakers. Not only do you get way better sound, but you can also keep using your TV remote to control the volume, which keeps things easy and convenient.

There is also a built-in phono stage, so you can connect a turntable directly to the Play using the analog inputs on the back. It supports both MM and MC cartridges, so whether you're just getting into vinyl or already have a higher-end turntable, the Play has you covered. You can connect your turntable directly to the analog inputs on the back without needing a separate phono preamp. Just keep in mind, like most modern digital systems, the signal from your turntable is ultimately converted to digital inside the Play before it's amplified. Now, if you have a really high-end turntable, you might still want to use a separate phono stage to get the absolute best performance. But for most people, having one built in is a nice touch. It also gives you a way to save some money when you are buying a turntable, since you can go with one that does not have a built-in phono stage, which are typically a little more affordable.

You also get coaxial and optical digital inputs for bringing in additional sources, plus a subwoofer output with bass management. You can customize crossover settings directly from the Play, allowing for better integration with your speakers and more controlled bass response. We love that they included this as adding a subwoofer to your system, especially if you end up using this with your TV to watch movies, can make a world of difference.

Eversolo has also added two USB-A ports. One is for USB storage devices, so if you have a collection of digital music files, you can plug in a drive and play them directly through the Play. The other USB port is for connecting to an outboard DAC. A DAC, or Digital-to-Analog Converter, takes the digital audio signal from your streaming services, USB drives, or other sources and converts it into an analog signal that your speakers can actually play. The Play already has a really good DAC built in that is known for its smooth, detailed sound. But some people like to upgrade to an even higher-end DAC down the line to fine-tune the sound or to get a specific sonic character they are after.

If you ever want to upgrade your DAC without replacing the entire unit, that second USB port gives you that option. It is a nice way to future-proof the system without losing all the other great features the Play has to offer.

Now, right out of the box, you get deep integration with major streaming platforms. The Play connects directly to Apple Music, TIDAL, Qobuz, Amazon Music, Deezer, and more. Each service is accessible from the 5.5-inch touchscreen or through the Play app, making it easy to jump between platforms without needing to switch devices. The Play is also Roon Ready, Tidal Connect, Spotify Connect, Bluetooth, and UPnP compatible.

It’s equipped to handle high-resolution audio with support for DSD, FLAC, APE, WAV, and more, giving you access to lossless and high-res files, whether they’re streamed from a service or played directly from a USB drive. Apple Music’s hi-res streams are also handled bit-perfectly, which is a big deal for anyone with a sizable Apple Music library.

At the heart of the Play’s digital audio processing is the AKM AK4493 DAC. This chip has been a go-to for its smooth, natural sound signature that leans slightly warm while maintaining excellent clarity and detail. Eversolo claims the DAC delivers a signal-to-noise ratio of 109dB and ultra-low total harmonic distortion of 0.0037%. These are impressive specs for a device at this price point, and they align closely with what we’ve heard from other AKM-based products — that warm, engaging sound that’s detailed without being overly clinical.

When it comes to the amplifier inside, it’s a Class D amp that delivers 60 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 120 watts per channel into 4 ohms. That should be enough power for most bookshelf or floorstanding speakers, and the Class D design keeps it running cool and efficient. It’s clear that Eversolo has taken the time to tune this amp for clarity and punch without the harshness that sometimes plagues lower-quality Class D designs. Whether you’re listening to delicate acoustic tracks or bass-heavy electronic music, we thought this unit maintained composure without losing definition.

Next, we want to talk about one of the most important aspects when it comes to investing in any streamer, the app. This is especially important if you plan to use multiple of them within your home. The Eversolo app is one of the best we’ve ever used. It’s well-organized and easy to navigate, giving you full control over your music library, settings, and even volume adjustments, all from your phone. We love the ability to log in to multiple streaming services like Qobuz, Apple Music, Tidal, and Amazon Music, and use the Eversolo Global Music Collection to search across all your subscribed services and see tracks and albums from different platforms on a single screen. You can even build playlists that pull from multiple services, making it easy to find that one song or album without jumping between apps.

As we mentioned before, the interface on the unit and the app have changed based on user feedback, and we find it even easier now to navigate and find what we’re looking for. It also makes it easier to group and pair multiple Eversolo units together for multi-room playback if you have more Eversolo products in your home. While some might prefer the older version, we’ve lived with both and much prefer the newer one. We have to give credit to Eversolo for listening to the crowd and making an already great app even better.

Another unique feature is the screencast function, which allows you to mirror the Eversolo’s display directly onto your phone. This creates a fully interactive experience where you can see and control everything in real time. It’s especially useful for managing third-party apps or just having your phone or tablet mirrored on the album artwork as you play music.

Moving on, we want to also touch on the room correction that is built into the Play. We are huge fans of automatic room correction as it can make your system sound so much better. It analyzes your room’s acoustics and adjusts the audio output to compensate for things like reflections, standing waves, and other acoustic issues. This is especially useful for rooms with challenging layouts or hard surfaces that can cause sound to bounce around. You can use your phone's microphone to listen to the test tones, and the Play does all the work and automatically sets the correction for you. And if you want to dive in even further, there are EQ settings with some pretty in-depth options for those of you who want to geek out and adjust things to your liking.

Now, while streaming is clearly a major focus here, Eversolo didn’t forget about physical media. The Play is available in two versions — a Standard Edition and a CD Edition. The CD Edition includes a built-in Hitachi/LG CD-ROM drive that can rip CDs into a data buffer before playing them back, but it also plays CDs directly without needing to rip them first. This is a great feature for those who still have a collection of discs and want to integrate them into a modern streaming setup without adding another external component.

The Eversolo Play is more than just a streaming amp — it’s a complete music hub designed to handle everything from high-resolution streaming to vinyl playback and TV audio. It combines modern features, versatile connectivity, and great sound quality in one easy-to-use package, making it a compelling option for anyone looking to simplify their setup without compromising on performance.

For those just getting into high-performance audio, the Play offers an accessible way to experience premium sound without the complexity of separate components. And for more seasoned listeners, it’s a versatile solution that can integrate into almost any system while still delivering that signature Eversolo sound.

We’re here to help!

If you have further questions, contact our experts via chat, phone, or email. They previously released the Amp-F2, a class D amp developed in collaboration with Starke Sound that could output 145 watts at 8 ohms. And while it looked nice with the A6 and A6 Master Edition, we found that there were so many other amps that we enjoyed with our Eversolo test units. The new F10, on the other hand, is a whole new story. It’s a much more premium product that Eversolo developed themselves that is set to once again compete with products in a higher price category like the A10. And this time, it’s not just an amp to match aesthetically with the A10 streamer; it brings the guts to be a very worthy amplifier that’s worth considering, even if you don’t own the A10.

Features & Technology

The F10 comes in around 17 inches wide and 12 inches deep, the same size as A10. However, it’s about an inch taller at 5.7 inches. It’s also quite heavy, thanks to its 1000-watt toroidal transformer power supply and other high end components inside that we will discuss shortly. The fit and finish match the A10 to a tee. It features the same exact dark brushed metal look with the new heat sink fins on the side and the same Eversolo logo and power button as the A10. However, instead of a touchscreen on the front, there is a simply the power button and a window that shows two real VU meters. There are even small lights inside to highlight the new meters, giving it a super classy and upscale look.

It has small feet on it that give it enough space to allow both units to breathe properly when stacking the F10 on top of the A10. We’re big fans of the appearance of these new units and absolutely love the look of them stacked together. It may not be what you’re traditionally used to seeing, but we’re happy to see Eversolo give us a futuristic vibe with a touch of classic looks in it with the analog VU meters.

Looking at the back of the amp, you have your left and right speaker outputs, standby switch mode switch, and trigger in and outs. The standby mode switch allows you to set the unit to wake up via trigger or manual by turning it on yourself or booting up when it hears an incoming signal. You also get a switch to change the sensitivity to 29DB or 23DB; this can come in handy based on the output levels of your streamer/preamp and/or speakers. The audiophiles on our support team will be more than happy to help you determine which is best for your system. There is also a switch to change it from Stereo if you’re just using one amp or “Bridge” if you plan on pairing two of the F10s together. In addition, you have balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs with a switch to indicate which one you are using. If the source or preamp you are connecting to the F10 has balanced audio outs, we recommend them in most cases. The balanced feed eliminates any noise the cables might pick up, which is especially important if you have a long cable run, which happens when people put the power amp closer to their speakers. It is really a nice touch to see this at this price point. However, we will point out that it has balanced inputs for the advantage balanced cables offer in noise reduction, but the internal audio path is not fully balanced.

If you decide you want to pair up two F10 amps and use them in Bridge mode, you can get up to 650 watts per channel at 8 ohms and 950 watts per channel at 4 ohms. One amp F10 will get you 200 watts per channel at 8 ohms and 320 watts per channel at 4 ohms. Now, this is quite impressive and has plenty of power to drive most modern speakers today. To complement its power, Eversolo has also stated it has an ultra-low total harmonic distortion of 0.008% and a signal-to-noise ratio of 113 dB.

What’s Inside the AMP-F10?

Alright, let’s now take a look inside the new F10 amp. First, this is a Class AB amplifier that runs at Class A at low power and then switches to Class AB at higher demands. It has a large 1000-watt toroidal transformer, which is a dual-channel independent linear power supply. Since the channels are separated, this will help prevent interference between the two channels but also give each channel dedicated current. With a powerful 1000-watt reserve of power, you can be sure your music with dynamic passages is handled with ease. In addition, they’ve included five pairs of high-current MOSFETs per channel which really puts this in the serious amplifier league.

Eversolo has also included advanced dual differential amps inside, which are tailored for low-level audio signals. The symmetrical circuit design and negative feedback technology that they’ve used will also help to minimize distortion and expand the dynamic range of your music. Plus, the F10 has a damping factor that exceeds 600 to ensure power and clear low-frequency performance.

And finally, the F10 uses an innovative DC filtering circuit between the main AC supply and audio circuit to remove any low-frequency DC interference. This helps ensure clean AC power is delivered to the audio circuits to improve their performance. Now, this all might sound a little technical, but suffice it to say that Eversolo has definitely put a ton of thought into this new amp, and it is a huge step up from their first F2 amp in just about every single way.

Performance Testing

With all the technical stuff aside, we know a lot of people will want to know how this Amp F10 sounds and if it will be the best fit for them. So we put it to the test with multiple different speakers from brands like Sonus Faber, Focal, and Bowers & Wilkins to really get a good feel for it was capable of. Listening to tracks from different genres showed us that this amp has a very detailed sound. If you are a very analytical listener, this amp will be a great option for you. We did find it to be a bit on the lean or, as some might say, analytical side when compared to other options in this price class, but each and every instrument or voice was placed perfectly in the soundstage that it delivered. No, it’s not going to sound as warm and lively as a more expensive tube amp, but it doesn’t seem like that is what Eversolo is going for here. Instead, you have a very solidly built amplifier that matches up perfectly with the Eversolo A10 preamp/streamer. So, if you own the A10 or are a big fan of Eversolo and are into very detailed sound, the F10 might be an obvious choice to pair up, and you’re ready to go. You can even add a second one down the road and bridge them together for more power.

However, if you’re really into the sound and want to explore more options that might sound different in this price range, there are a lot of options out there from classic brands like Marantz, Rotel, Anthem, NAD, and more that we feel are worthy options that could potentially be a much better match for you.

Overall Recommendation

So, our best advice here would be that if you own the A10 and are set on Eversolo and want to match aesthetics, the F10 will be your best bet. We believe they will take the learnings of these new A10 and F10 units that are much higher end and hopefully trickle them down into their other more affordable options down the line. It’s slightly bigger than the previous A8, coming in around 17 inches wide, 12 inches deep, and 4.6 inches tall. It also steps things up with a finely crafted, CNC-machined aluminum chassis, complete with metal fins on the sides that help with passive cooling. It just feels more solid, too, weighing in at almost 16 pounds compared to the A8’s 11. We personally like the look of the new fins—they give it a cool, modern look. But if you were a fan of the A8's simple black box vibe, this new design might take some getting used to.

Now, looking at the front panel, you'll spot some more upgrades. First off, there’s a dedicated power button on the left side now—probably because the new volume knob has been revamped with a built-in screen! You don’t see this feature on other products too often, and Eversolo's version is super cool. The circular screen on the knob can display the volume or even album artwork and can be customized to different themes. Of course, this feature is just for looks and won’t improve your sound, but it definitely makes the A10 easier to use and gives it a sleek, futuristic vibe. Plus, the bright and gorgeous screen has added a half inch and is updated to a 6.5” touchscreen. In our full review of other Eversolo units, we raved about how responsive and detailed the screens are, and the A10 is no exception—it’s super fast and smooth to navigate.

You can control everything—your music, streaming services, settings, and more—right from the front touchscreen or through their well-organized and fast app. You can also set favorites, customize the home screen, and tweak how you want album art to appear while your music plays. Eversolo really nailed it with these screens, and we can’t stress that enough. With the large center touchscreen paired with the new screen on the volume knob, you’ll have all the info you need right at a glance!

One really unique feature is the ability to cast the screen from your Eversolo to your phone. The screencast feature pulls up a direct screencast of what is on your screen and is completely interactive. What we found the screencast most useful for was the third-party apps. Since the third-party apps are not accessible on the Eversolo phone app, you can easily mirror the screen, open third-party apps, and have complete control of your music that way. It’s a clever workaround that seems to work rather well.

The Eversolo app itself is also blazing fast and has all the features you should need. It’s easy to navigate, allows you to sign in and stream your music from your favorite music platform right in the app, and even has a universal music search feature to find songs across all of your streaming services. We used the app almost exclusively when we were testing all the Eversolo units, as it just seemed to be the easiest way to navigate and control everything. However, Eversolo does include a new refined remote that feels and looks pretty nice if you prefer to control it that way instead of always relying on your phone.

When you check out the back of the A10, it looks pretty similar to the A8. You still get all the essentials—an ethernet port, balanced XLR inputs, RCA inputs, HDMI ARC, 2 coax inputs, 1 USB-B input, 2 USB-A’s, and 2 toslink inputs. For outputs, you’ve got balanced XLRs, RCAs, 1 coax, 1 Toslink, and 1 USB-A port. You’ll also have trigger in and out ports and a new SFP fiber port, allowing you to connect to your network via fiber when you purchase an additional SFP module. This is typically seen in high-end gear and allows you to have cleaner audio without an electrical connection between the network switch and the device itself. But the upgrade that we were excited to see was the addition of 2 dedicated subwoofer outs! This lets you hook up and fine-tune two subs directly through the A10 interface or app, delivering deep, balanced bass for your stereo or home theater setup. You have the ability to set sub level, crossover frequency and polarity for the subs which applies to both of them. However, you can then choose whether you want Stereo mode where it will crossover one sub with your left speaker and one with your right. You’ll see many two channel purists do this when they have their subs right next to their left and right speakers. If you have one sub or two subs that are in the corners of your room or other locations, you will instead choose Mixer mode which will mix the right and left to give you the same feed to both subs. We tested this in our system with two KEF subs and it worked flawlessly.

In addition to the dual sub capability, the A10 also comes with its own room correction. Almost any room will have frequency peaks due to its shape and how the sound waves interact, which can really affect how your music sounds. That’s why we love systems that come with automated room correction. You usually see this in high-performance home theater gear, but Eversolo has brought Room Correction Technology to the A10, allowing it to automatically adjust the sound to reduce unwanted peaks and nulls created by the room. Using the included mic (or your own), you can easily run the correction, and it’ll do all the work for you. We tested it and found it definitely improved the sound in less than perfect rooms. Using a phone, you can get a pretty good correction curve, but using a dedicated mic gets you even better results. It is not as powerful as something like Dirac Live with Bass Control that you see on higher-end steamer units like the NAD M66, but it works well and can easily be turned on and off. There are some tweaks you can do to the automated correction that we cover in our Tips and Tricks.

For those who want to fine-tune things manually instead of relying on auto adjustments, the A10 still gives you full control with a parametric EQ. You can target specific frequencies, like 37Hz or 121Hz, and adjust how steep or wide the correction is. Plus, you get access to FIR filters, high-pass and low-pass filters, bass boost, a compressor, and delay control—so you can geek out as much as you want!

The HDMI arc connection allows you to connect this right to your TV system too! We want to note here that there is no HDMI I2S like there was on the A8 and no HDMI DSD/Audio output port. However, Eversolo concluded that for the vast majority of folks, these would have been unused features that would add to the cost of the device.

Inside the A10, the impressive features continue. First off, Eversolo has designed the interior to separate noise and interference from different boards and has even added shielding on the front panel to ensure the audio signal remains pure and undisturbed. Plus, it has dual independent linear power supplies. This configuration consists of a toroidal transformer and a low-noise linear power supply to separate the digital system from the analog audio circuits, which helps eliminate interference and distortion. Anyone who’s into audio knows that a good power supply can make a huge difference—better ones generate less noise and give stronger support to all the components.

The DAC inside is the extremely powerful ES9039PRO instead of the two AKM DACs found in the A8. We were big fans of that “velvet sound” that came from the A8, so we were a little surprised to see them change it up. However, when you look up the raw parts cost, the new ESS Sabre DAC comes in at almost twice the price. But what really matters is how it sounds, which we will get to shortly. And keep in mind that if you already have a better DAC without streaming capabilities, you can still attach the A10 with any of it’s digital outs. In fact, they’ve even incorporated an advanced electrical isolation circuit to reduce interference from high-noise power sources and grounding loop issues when you connect up an external DAC or USB device. The iCoupler technology inside transmits the clock signal and data to the isolated side in the correct time order and then resynchronizes them to maintain consistency. This may sound a bit technical, but all you really need to know is that any USB connection will be high quality with reduced jitter and maintain great signal accuracy.

The A10 supports high-res audio up to 32-bit PCM at 768 kHz and DSD512. Plus, it supports nearly all the file formats you should need and gives you access to popular streaming platforms like Qobuz, Deezer, Tidal, Amazon Music, and Apple Music. You can also use Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect, and it will soon be Roon Ready. It also runs on Eversolo's patented EOS operating system (Eversolo Original Sampling-rate Audio Engine) that bypasses Android’s SRC limitations to ensure the original sample rate output from any of the music apps for perfectly accurate playback.

The A10 is also capable of Bluetooth 5.0, can rip and play CDs using an external CD drive, play music from a USB drive, and has 64GB of internal storage. You can easily rip CDs and store them directly on the unit, and if you wish to have more storage, you can install SSDs underneath the unit to have up to 4TB of total storage. You can also use this unit as a server to access all your files and play anywhere in your home.

The A10 also gets a cool upgrade in the clock department with custom-developed temperature control technology for the OCXO clock system. OCXO stands for Oven Controlled Crystal Oscillator, and it keeps the temperature constant and stable regardless of external temperature changes. It’s considered the best-performing quartz crystal oscillator out there. Having a stable temperature helps eliminate any frequency fluctuations for less noise and low jitter. This is a step up from the clocks in their previous products, and these ones even undergo a rigorous testing process from Eversolo to be sure they perform to their standards.

But why does this even matter? Because even the smallest drift in a clock signal can cause tiny timing errors between samples, which impacts the audio quality. The more accurate the timing, the more alive and true-to-life your music sounds, as if you’re right there at the live performance.

In addition, just like the A8, the level adjustment is R2R-based. The fully balanced preamp in the A10 is well-made with precision resistors and relays to ensure precise volume control, allowing you to use it as a true analog preamp in your system.

Okay, so we’ve gone over most of the major features and technology of the new A10. Now, let’s talk about performance.

We tested the A10 with Parasound JC1 plus monoblock amps with KEF Reference 1 Meta bookshelves and KEF R11 Meta towers. This setup is extremely revealing and previously had an expensive streamer connected to it. So, it allowed us to evaluate the A10 sonically, particularly compared to a more expensive streamer solution. From a pure specification standpoint, you’d expect the A10 to shine, and it sure does. We set it up, ran room calibration, and then tweaked it until we felt it was really dialed in. Then, we ran a host of listening tests. We have to say, this A10 is incredible.

Listening to tracks from different genres of music, like The Birth of a Band by Quincy Jones and Starboy by The Weeknd, proved that the A10 has some serious chops. No matter what we played, the A10 just sounded phenomenal and proved that the ESS Dac inside was musical and enjoyable to listen to all day long. We could go on and on, but in short, the A10 rocks. If you have the budget and are looking for a streamer/preamp, you will not be disappointed.

For fun, we also tested the A10 with a pair of nice powered bookshelf speakers to simulate a situation where you have a limited budget and want to put the vast majority into this great streamer/preamp and look to upgrade to better amps and speakers later. As you might expect, the A10 made these speakers come alive in a way we had not previously heard. So we believe the A10 could turn out to be not only a great steamer upgrade for people but also the start of a much better system over time. But if you want a deeper dive, you can check out our article at the link in the description.

Plus, if you want to pair up a matching amp, the Amp-F10 will be coming very soon, which will be the perfect match aesthetically. This is a completely redesigned amp from their previous Amp-F2, which was built from the ground up by Eversolo themselves. It will feature 200W per channel and up to 650 watts in bridged mode. We will have one in very soon for a review to put it to the test and let you know how it performs, so make sure you’re subscribed and have the notification bell turned on so you don’t miss that video when it drops.

Many Eversolo fans are already sold on Eversolo and likely want to know how we feel the A10 stacks up against the A6, A6 Master, and A8. First of all, if you are using it as a streamer only without leveraging the DAC and pre-amp, it's likely not worth the upgrade. However, if you are really into great sound and have the budget, we do believe this is a worthy upgrade. You get upgraded clocks, power supply, dual subs, and room correction, along with overall sonic improvement.

We’re here to help!

If you have further questions, contact our experts via chat, phone, or email.
